What is A-MAX Inland Empire?

A-MAX Insurance is an auto insurance agency serving drivers since 2002, with more than three million drivers helped across Texas, California and Arizona. This site covers our 11 walk-in offices across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. We specialize in working with drivers other companies pass on: after tickets, an accident, a gap in coverage, no insurance history yet, or an SR-22 to file.

We are an agency, not a carrier

That difference matters more than it sounds. We do not write the policies ourselves. We compare the companies we work with in California and place your policy with the one that prices your situation best.

It is the whole reason one company saying no is not the end of the road. Companies weigh the same history very differently, and the difference between their prices is widest for exactly the drivers who get turned away: someone with a recent coverage gap, a couple of tickets, or an SR-22 to file.

Who we serve

This is a specialty, not a penalty box. The drivers we work with are usually dealing with one of these:

  • Need coverage today: sometimes buying a first policy, sometimes just needing proof right now.
  • A gap in coverage: a missed payment, a cancelled policy, a registration suspension notice from the DMV.
  • Tickets or an accident: not renewed, or quoted a number that does not work.
  • An SR-22 to file: a DUI, driving uninsured, or getting a suspended license back.

None of those get you a lecture at an A-MAX office. We look at the whole picture, not one line on a report.

How this Knowledge Center is written

Everything in our Knowledge Center is written for drivers dealing with a problem right now, not for people casually browsing. A few standards we hold ourselves to:

  • We cite California law as it currently stands, including the 30/60/15 minimums that took effect January 1, 2025.
  • We do not promise savings, guarantee approval, or claim a lowest rate. Insurance pricing depends on your situation, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling.
  • We tell you when something is a general rule rather than a certainty, and we point you to your DMV order or the court when that document is what actually governs.
  • We say when we do not have an office somewhere. There is no A-MAX office in the city of Riverside, and our Riverside page says so.
  • Every article shows when it was last updated.

About A-MAX

Who is A-MAX Insurance?
A-MAX Insurance is an auto insurance agency that has served drivers since 2002 and has helped more than three million drivers across Texas, California and Arizona. We specialize in working with drivers other companies pass on or price out.
Is A-MAX an insurance company or an agency?
A-MAX is an agency. We do not write the policies ourselves - we compare the companies we work with in California and place your policy with the one that fits your situation. That is why one company saying no does not end the conversation.
What does "non-standard auto insurance" mean?
It is the industry term for coverage built around drivers big companies do not write - people with tickets, an at-fault accident, a gap in coverage, no insurance history yet, or an SR-22 to file. It is a specialty, not a penalty.
Does A-MAX serve the whole Inland Empire?
We have 11 walk-in offices across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, from Ontario and Corona out through Banning and Indio and up into the High Desert at Hesperia and Victorville. Drivers anywhere in the region can also call us or quote online.
Are agents bilingual?
Yes. Bilingual English and Spanish agents are available across our Inland Empire offices, and you can be helped in either language in person, by phone, or online.
